Money

“Mo Money Mo Problems”-Notorious B.I.G. Money runs every thing America. What you do with your life, your friends, your choices and even where you go to school & where you live. Money is one of the strongest items in the world, it can influence people to do scary things. It can also be used to bribe people, an example would be telling your kid you would be rewarding him for getting good grades. In the Great Gatsby, Gatsby realizes that money can’t buy him everything. The one thing he truly wants is to spend his life with a girl named Daisy. I think that if people cared less about money and more the non-materialistic things the world would be a lot happier and a better place.

Olvera Street

For my project, i decided to go to Olvera street in LA. The reason why we chose this place was because I had never been here before and I wanted to observe the normal ” LA ” life. We decided to go to specifically Olvera street because we wanted to learn more about the Hispanic culture. We got to experience some of the everyday foods and activities they eat and do. This trip was not only an experience but a memory for sure, I loved the environment and the people that live there and wish to visit there sometime again.

Drinking and Driving

It really opens peoples eyes on how high the drinking and driving rate is, and how people need to start being responsable

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration 10,076 people died in traffic crashes in 2013 in the United States. That’s 31% of all traffic related deaths in that year. How many deaths is it going to take until people will start to realize to not be an idiot? It’s really simple. If you are drunk and need to get somewhere, don’t get behind the wheel. Call a cab or a friend. Don’t risk your life or more importantly someone else’s life because you made one stupid decision because you thought you’d be fine. Imagine striking some little kid. Now you’re life is practically ruined. You’re going to be in jail for a very long time and it was all because you chose to get behind the wheel. And what about the kid. That kid is dead, he’s never going to be able to grow up. His family is going…

Media

Media was created to block out certain aspects of our world from us. As we see it today, only negative things are shown on News Shows, like CNN or ABC News, their isn’t any positive things to talk about. All you hear are the horrors and riots and crimes that happen all around the world. They specifically  only show the negative things to entertain the public. If they were to show more positive things like a kid saving another kid from death in a school fire less people would be watching there shows. I think that media today has shaped into a way that the only interest they have is money. An example of this would be police brutality happening all around the world. It’s not like Police brutality hasn’t been a problem for the past years, but media has made a big deal out of it now because that is the most mainstream talk now and days. That sort of information attracts more viewers than positive things happens. The media should be focusing more on the positive things happening in the world rather than making a huge deal about the negatives. I believe that there is more positive in the world than there is negative, others could disagree but that is mostly because there main argument is that on the news, there is way more negative shown than positive. As you can see because of media wanting to make money by only showing the negative aspects of the world, it has changed the way we view lots of things.Obviously if the news were to show more positive things than negative, a lot more people would believe that the world is way more positive than negative.

Family

Some people don’t understand the true meaning of family. I recently watched the movie ” A Better Life ” and it was a story that truly had opened my eyes. It really had left a huge impact on how I viewed family and how important it was. The movie was about Mexican immigrants who had crossed the boarder to essentially live ” a better life”. It showed how much family meant to this particular family and it honestly touched me. I think that most people should cherish what they have, because you never know when all of it is going to disappear, and it could happen between a blink of an eye. For some, family is the only reason to live and for others, they only have children so that they can try to be way more successful then they had been in their life. So the next time you decide that you want to talk back to your parents, just think twice and see what they’re trying to teach you or what lesson they’re trying to get across. There’s no point in arguing back, it gets no where and 95% of the time you’ll never be right. Most parents only want what’s best for their kids so if yours are trying to help out, rather than talking back and thinking you know everything just sit back and listen to what they say and maybe try it , who knows maybe they’ll be right. Enjoy every moment you have with your family, whether it’s just eating dinner in the dining room , or a get together a pizza parlor. Spending time and bonding can impact you in a positive way.

Darkness

The little boy was hiding in the corner of his room, he was being engulfed by the shadows. He was so angry and sad at the same time he had no clue what to do. He didn’t want to tell anyone about his problems or what was happening with him , not even his parent’s or his best friends. All he wanted to do is be alone and try to deal with his issues by himself. He was getting bullied in school by all the jocks. They would threaten his life and would embarrass him in front of hundreds of girls. One day after P.E. one of the bullies was making fun of his size, calling him fat and how no one likes him. His reaction was not so bright, he immediately lashed out at him and bunched the bully right in the face, releasing some of his anger in a not so bright way. He was sent to the principals office and was headed for some deep trouble from the principal and his parents. A huge problem in society is people not wanting to talk about their problems. It is not a bad thing to talk about your problems. If you keep them all in, you’re going to explode in anger. One of the ways you can let this anger out is having someone to talk to who you feel comfortable expressing your feelings with. It could range from anywhere from a friend to a family member.

Express your feelings

A lot of people like to keep their issues to themselves, but sometimes an issue can be just too much for a person to handle. An example of this is bullying, bullying does no one good, it only hurts people and makes them want to feel inexistant. On top of this, many people do not feel comfortable expressing their feelings with their friends or family members when they are going through these horrible times. Nearly three in four young people fear the reactions of friends when they talk about their mental health problems. I think that if people were to directly attack the source, ( the person doing the bullying, etc..) it would reduce the amount of people getting hurt. When people know they will be getting consequences from their bad actions, they tend to not do them anymore.

Not expressing your problems also leads to serious mental health issues.By not talking about your problems over time, it all stacks up into one huge big fire ball that you’re going to have to let out whether you like it or not. People who are abused by their peers are at risk for mental health programs, such as low self-esteem.Comments that may seem small to you like calling people “ fat” or “ugly” could take a big toll on a person’s view on themselves.Mean         comments never lead to any resolution and it doesn’t make anyone feel better about themselves.I believe that if people were frowned down upon for making such harsh and rude comments, not nearly as many people would say them. People usually say these types of things to try to make themselves feel better by making others feel worse.

People need to start talking about their problems and issues in their life. Holding it in does no one good, who cares if people think you are “ annoying “. Those types of people are ignorant and don’t know what you personally are going through.By expressing the problem it opens the situation for others to help guide your or in general help you out.
